Problem

Sometimes while running `bundle install` during setting up a new project, you might get the following error:

An error occurred while installing pg (1.2.0), and Bundler cannot continue.
Make sure that `gem install pg -v '1.2.0' --source 'https://rubygems.org/'` succeeds before bundling.

Solution

To fix this issue, run the following commands:

 

On Ubuntu:

sudo apt-get install libpq-dev

On Mac

brew install postgresql

 

then run `bundle install` again.
